The Keala Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, aims to build healthy communities that support the youth of Hawaii. Since inception in 2013, their mission has been to create a free and safe place where kids can feel loved and supported in a positive, fitness-forward environment.
Founder of the Keala Foundation and the Ultimate Hawaiian Trail Run, Aaron Hoff, grew up on Kaua’i and struggled with drug and alcohol abuse for many years. Now 20+ years sober, he’s spent the last decade working to provide free opportunities and safe places for youth on the island to take part in fitness and education.
HWPO Training is donating food and supplies directly to the organization in September to support the participants of the program and the major fundraising events taking place. We encourage you to join us in getting involved! Visit the Keala Foundation website for details on becoming an advocate, shopping apparel, donating and volunteering.
The annual Ultimate Hawaiian Challenge celebrates 10 years on September 16, 2023. More than just a “fun run”, it’s a huge fundraising effort for the Keala Foundation. If you can’t make the run, you can get involved from home! HWPO Training has programmed a workout you can do anywhere in the world on September 30th. Get all the details (and a shirt), and register here. When you hit the workout, post tagging @hwpotraining and using the hashtag #UHC23 so we can celebrate that you SHOWED UP.
